Since July, record-breaking heatwaves triggered nationwide peak electricity loads four times, with 19 provincial grids—including Jiangsu, Shandong and Guangdong—hitting historic highs 46 times. Anchored in energy security, CHN Energy intensified identification and remediation of major safety hazards amid combined challenges of floods and extreme heat, strengthening emergency systems to ensure stable operations under sustained high loads. Regional subsidiaries in Guangdong, Zhejiang and Fujian swiftly responded to typhoons (Danas, Wipha, Co-May), while those in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei mitigated flood disasters, securing uninterrupted supply.
Pivoting to market-oriented operations, CHN Energy coordinated wind, solar, hydro and thermal power to drive real-time loads to an all-time high of 185 million kW. Leveraging integrated operations, subsidiaries anticipated market trends and optimized grid load forecasting to maximize generation. Daily output exceeded 4 billion kWh for 16 consecutive days, peaking at 4.27 billion kWh on July 28—a summer record and yearly high.
Hydropower units precisely predicted water inflows to optimize cascade dam dispatch; wind and solar projects capitalized on summer resources for full-capacity generation. Clean energy output in the month surged 18% year-on-year to a historic high, with wind and solar utilization hours ranking first industry-wide.
