In July 2025, the Technical Requirements for Power Generation Enterprises' Carbon Emissions and Trading Data On-Chaining, spearheaded by CHN Energy’s Longyuan (Beijing) Carbon Asset Management Technology Co., Ltd., received approval for development from the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO). This standard aims to establish a unified and standardized global carbon data system.
The standard will define technical requirements including source verification, transmission protocols, and formatting specifications for carbon emissions data. It addresses persistent issues in traditional carbon data management such as credibility gaps and poor traceability. Next, the company will establish a dedicated task force to advance the standard's drafting process, offering technical support for the green and low-carbon transition of the power industry.
