In July, the Operations and Maintenance Specification for Scour Protection Facilities of Offshore Wind Foundations (NB/T 11763-2025), led by CHN Energy Longyuan Power, was approved and issued by the National Energy Administration of China. The standard will take effect on 30 December 2025, filling a critical gap in China’s technical standards for offshore wind foundation maintenance.
The specification establishes detailed requirements for inspection, maintenance, quality assessment and acceptance of scour protection facilities. It clearly defines construction techniques and key parameter controls, applicable to common foundation types such as monopiles and jacket structures. This addresses longstanding industry challenges including inconsistent maintenance practices and ambiguous technical criteria.
As China’s earliest specialized wind power developer, Longyuan Power possesses extensive offshore wind expertise, having commissioned multiple demonstration projects and pioneered advanced technologies. This new standard will provide essential technical guidance to enhance operational efficiency and extend the service life of offshore wind farms.
